The blades are barely 9 inches long and I feared my bread slicing guide would become useless. But it reaches just enough to work well. I've assumed the blades with the wider base is the bread knife though both sets will actually cut bread. The little buttons used to hold the blades together could be manufactured to fit better. The one on the bread blades is a bit too big, takes several seconds to manipulate it into the hole. The one on the other blade is a bit too small and it will pop out of the hole as I'm trying to insert the blades. So far, the blades do stay attached once inserted. The two Included plastic COVERS work but are so wimpy, I've used an old one for the thinner blades. The woodblock probably cost a bit to make and ship. I tried to find a useful place for it, but eventually threw it away and now store the knife where I've always stored previous electric knives - out of sight, & not collecting dust.So far it does its job of cutting homemade bread. No excessive heat, I slice the whole loaf without stopping. I have ancient arthritic hands and they have no problems with it.

Thought this was a bargain with the two different cutting blades and solid wood block for storage. Blades are super sharp. Product fits nicely in my hand. Was able to cut thin, uniform slices of chicken breast easily. I had an old Hamilton Beach knife for over 10 years. This one is far better. Would recommend.
